Welcome!

Since I have been away I have been looking into the issues which have cropped up thanks to new regualtions in both the EU and the USA.

I am happy to report that I can now dispatch orders to the EU - hurray!

As for the tarriff situation in the USA. The information that I have gained is that individuals can import upto $800 in a single order before tarriffs and other taxes will be levied. However, as the situation has been changing rapidly, it may be advisable to check for any new rules changes with your customs authorities.

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss a custom order, please contact me at

The the inspiration for this soft blend comes from two different paintings.

The first painting is by a Hungarian painter called Janos Tornyai. It is called ‘Winter Landscape with Violet Lights’, and was painted about 1910. It is thought to be one of many paintings that he made with the Great Plains of Hungary being the subject.

The second painting is called ‘Arctic Ocean’ by Konstantin Korovin. Korovin is considered by many as Russia’s greatest impressionist painter. This painting was probably composed during his 1894 trip to Finland, Norway and Northern Russia that was financed by a railway magnate.

Both paintings are based on such cold subjects, but have soft, inviting colours. I decided to put together a warm blend that would keep you warm during any winter excursion.

The 150g Winter Lights gradient is made from a blend of 2/3 merino and 1/3 baby alpaca – the alpaca fibre being approximately eight times warmer than wool. The alpaca also has a longer staple length than the merino, which in my opinion, makes the blend easier to spin.

This blend will felt. If you do not wish it to, hand wash in cool water.
